Mubtaahij, the GOAT

Mubtaahij is currently sitting at 14/1 odds to win the Kentucky Derby this Saturday. This Irish horse is owned by an Arab Sheikh, jockied by a Belgian and trained by a man named de Kock. It's pretty much easy money to pick this horse based soley on the reasons listed above. Add in the fact that it is being called the "Mystery Horse" of the Kentucky Derby and I don't know what else to say to convince you that this horse is going to win. The Derby starts at 6:24pm ET and if you're not rooting for Mubtaahij, you're doing it wrong.
UPDATE: 11:02pm- The odds are now at 20/1. This is the most free money you'll ever see. Jesus

UEFA Champions Quarterfinal First Leg Scores, Reviews, and Predictions

This week on Tuesday and Wednesday, the UEFA Champions league started the quarterfinal stage, with some definite marquis matches with some European superpowers, and some underdogs. The matches were as followed: Real Madrid @ Atletico Madrid , AS Monaco @ Juventus , Barcelona @ PSG , and Bayern Munich @ Porto. I will give some post match reactions, man of the match, team ratings, and predictions for the second leg of each fixture.
Real Madrid @ Atletico Madrid Venue: Vincente Calderon, Madrid, Spain Final Score: 0-0
In this local rivalry match on the European stage, both sides had huge expectations for this game. A cross-town rivalry was about to have another chapter to it, or so we thought. There was no clear cut winner, and it will all come down to the second leg at Santiago Bernabeu.
MAN OF THE MATCH: Atletico GK Jan Oblak
Facing Real Madrid is no easy task, and the guy between the sticks was a talking point. Even though Atletico is a defensive-minded team, Real had their chances, but e…

Celtics First Round Matchup

The Boston Celtics locked in a playoff matchup with Lebitch James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Now, I truly believe the Celtics will make some noise in the playoffs. A LOT OF NOISE... Such as Lebron sitting on a beach come the end of April contemplating what his next segment of "The Decision" will consist of. Maybe this time when he recruits someone as "great" as Kevin Love was supposed to be, it won't be a total bust. I think Kevin Love is a good player, he just teamed up with a guy who doesn't play nice with power forwards who can stretch the floor. Also he should've just stayed in Minnesota out of the spotlight where he belongs.
This has been the best season for the front office since 2007. What happened then you ask?  There are three reasons the celtics season is a success. Two of those reasons are the trades that Danny Ainge pulled off this season.
Trade 1: Celtics send Rajon Rondo and Dwight Powell to the Dallas Mavericks for Jameer Nelson, Brandan W…

Chiarelli Gets Canned

In all seriousness, Chiarelli is a good GM that did a lot for the Bruins organization and we can thank him for that. A Stanley Cup, couple finals appearances and like 8 straight playoff appearances all built from basically nothing. That being said, the Seguin trade speaks for itself, and the commitment to subpar players at unreasonably high prices are grounds to fire him. It was time to part ways and we'll see if Claude is next. Here's to the Bruins screwing their head on straight and the future looking a little brighter.

Aaron Hernandez Found Guilty

Image Former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez nodded no as jurors in his Massachusetts trial found him guilty Wednesday of first degree murder, which carries a penalty of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.

Hernandez was also found guilty of unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

If anyone is surprised by this, then you probably were the kind of person who thought that OJ should have got off. Aaron Hernandez used to be my favorite player on the Patriots, make no mistake, but I do think he should rot in jail for the rest of his life. He's just another scumbag who thought that being famous would allow him to beat the law. Not how it works, sorry Aaron. He's due back in court in May for the trial of the double murder in Boston from 2012. At this point I would like to see him convicted for that too, for the sake of the families involved.

As a side note, some of my favorite players in professional sports have either been a…

Jürgen Klopp to leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the 2015 Season

Usually here on, we don't talk about soccer. Actually, we've never talked about soccer. Even though the other contributors may kill me for this, we're gonna start to talk about soccer via yours truly. I'm a huge soccer fan, and I want to share my passion for soccer with you, the viewers. We're gonna start with a big headline just released today.

Jürgen Klopp will step down as Borussia Dortmund manager at the end of the 2015 Season. Yes, Borussia Dortmund has struggled this year, and Klopp did own up to it. With tons of Premier League teams possibly looking for a new manager, Klopp made the right decision. Dortmund is moving on, and so is Klopp. He said he has no plans for the future, but I have a couple of predictions for his future and that of Dortmund.
Klopp will be a Premier League Manager in 2015-2016
It's hard to believe, but Klopp will be either managing at the Etihad (Man City), Anfield (Liverpool), or the Emirates (Arsenal) by next year. All o…

Should Tsarnaev get the Death Penalty or Life in Prison with no Parole?

Today is the 2 year anniversary of the famous Boston Marathon Bombing. April 15, 2013, the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Boylston St. was bombed  by the Tsarnaev Brothers. Chaos ensued, and a week-long chase took place. The brothers are responsible for the deaths of many, as well as hunderds of injuries. The eldest brother, Tamerlame, was killed during the chase, but the younger brother, Dzhokhar, survived and is being tried. This is him below...

The jury came back with it's initial verdict, which was guilty on all 30 counts against him. No surprise there, as the defense openly said that he was guilt, they were trying to save his life. The question remains, should he get life in prison, or the death penalty.
Personally, part of me says that the death penalty is too easy, and that life in prison is a waste of money. So, we're going to do some pros and cons of both.

Pros of Death Penalty
- He gets what he deserves - The families get to see the killer be killed on the spot

Ranking the Top 10 Places to Eat in SE Mass (First 4 in)

"Food for the body is not enough. There must be food for the soul."--Dorothy Day
A couple days ago I was having a conversation about what the top places to grab some grub in the area were. There was a lot of discussion and a lot of stupid ideas thrown around. Even so, I think I can say that this is my list for my 10 favorite places to eat around here.
10. New York Pizza-West Bridgewater
This spot is so new that there isn't a single picture of it anywhere on the Internet. It opened up shop about a month ago where Niko's Pizza used to be. The place offers New York style pizza instead of bar pizza, which is very common around here. I've had NY Pizza three times since it opened and I can say that I would strongly recommend the pizza to my best of friends and worst of enemies. It is that good.
9. Daybreak-West Bridgewater

I'm going to start this one off by saying that I used to never be a fan of this place. I thought it was too greasy and the service sucked. Up unt…

Ebay Steal of the Week

If you know me, then you know that I have spent a lot of money on a lot of dumb things I did not need from eBay. I don't know what it is about that site, but it keeps me coming back and keeps me spending my hard earned money.
This so happens to be one of those items that I don't really need but bought anyway. It's a pretty simple hat, but it gets the job done if you want a hat to rock backwards. Besides it being a simple and unreal hat, it's listed by this guy for only $4.50. You're dead wrong if you think I didn't cop this the second I saw it. I suggest you do the same.

Spieth Dominates the Masters

So on Thursday I wrote about different bets going on this weekend at the masters. It was on short notice but there was enough time for people to listen to me and go get some #FreeMoney

Live look-in at the people that listened to me:
Chances are I made someone a millionaire. You can look at my bets Here but I'll save you the trouble and let you know that I hit on every single one of them. Batting .1000 so I guess that's pretty good. Enjoy your money everyone and don't forget got it for you.
Anyway, what Spieth did was absurd and I think it's safe to say we got a new star of golf. Kid shot -18 to tie the record at the tournament with Tiger. He never gave anyone a chance. He almost won last year too but couldn't quite finish the job. This year though, Jordan showed that he has ice water running through his veins. #PrayForTheRestOfTheTour

Play for #22

Play for #22

God received another angel yesterday. If you had never heard of Lauren Hill, all you had to do was turn on ESPN yesterday. To see how much of an impact this young lady had not only on the sport's world, but on the world as a whole, leaves me speechless.
Lauren defines the definition of a true fighter. Shortly after Hill had committed to Mount Saint Joseph in October of 2015 to play collegiate basketball, she had been diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a terminal inoperable brain cancer.
Unlike many others, Lauren kept positive and was determined to "kick DIPG's butt". On November 2, 2014 Lauren Hill and the rest of her team took the court at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati, Ohio against Hiram College. This was the freshman's chance to show the world how courageous and strong she truly was. Hill received a warm and welcoming cheer as she was introduced on the PA system and didn't take long to shock the world. She scored only…

Why Missing the Playoffs is Good for the Boston Bruins

Firs things first, this is obviously a disaster senario for the Bruins. But there will be some good to take away from it:
1) The Bruins probably weren't going far anyway. Peter Chiarelli could not have done a worse job managing the roster and the players we did have weren't playing like they have the ability too. Missing the playoffs will be a wake up call to the entire organization that they desperately need.

2) Hopefully the Bruins will take that wake up call and make some wholesale changes. The NHL is changing, and GM Chiarelli and coach Claude don't want to accept that fact. Speed and skill win, but they still show unwavering loyalty to slow grinders that don't get the job done. It's frustrating as a fan to have to watch guys with skill that score like Pastrnak and Spooner rot away on the bench while guys like Campbell are playing 15+ minutes a night. Hopefully we won't have to do that anymore. The Tyler Seguin trade is possibly Boston's worst since Ba…

Fantasy Quarterbacks

I know it  is way too early to be thinking about what quarterback you want to draft in your 2015 Fantasy Football League, but I cannot wait for this season to get under way. So, here are my early predictions.
Top 3 Fantasy Quarterbacks of 2015 (Standard Scoring)

1. Andrew  Luck  2014: 4,761 yards, 40 TD's and 16 interceptions 2015 Projection: 4,607 yards, 39 TD's and 13 interceptions Fantasy Points Per Game: 24.52
Andrew Luck may be one of the best quarterbacks ever to play the game, the way he is putting up numbers in his early years and continues to mature each year. He continues to carry his Indianapolis Colts team farther and farther every year in the playoffs. The additions of Andre Johnson and Frank Gore will certainly help his fantasy numbers. Johnson will replace the infamous Reggie Wayne and Gore will help the running game, which has not been in Indy for a while. Luck also has his favorite target to count on in T.Y. Hilton who caught 82 of the Colts quarterbacks'…

Super Bowl Contenders 2016

So even though the Super Bowl was only 2 months ago, it is time to once again think about who is in the run for the playoffs this year and who is not. To start, the draft has not come yet so this is a pre-draft Super Bowl contenders list. Automatically eliminate the Jaguars, as they have no QB and their defense is only so-so. The draft will help them, but unfortunately there is another losing season coming towards Jacksonville. We can also eliminate the Raiders, as Carr played well last year but they still need to find a run game and scrounge up any sort of defense they can. Buccaneers are also looking at another under .500 year, as they have started to bolster their D, but still have a lackluster offense. The Jets have also added some depth on to the defense side to the ball, but with the AFC east becoming more and more competitive every year, it is hard seeing them move up the ladder at all. With all the lowly teams being noted, my sleeper pick this year for a deep playoff run is t…

Masters Bets

Winner- Jordan Spieth

Book it, take it to the bank, bet the mortgage, do whatever. Kids been on a heater he's ready to win the green jacket.

That's all I got for serious stuff but now let's take a look at some prop bets:
Will Tiger Woods make the cut? (Yes -115, No -115) What the hell I'll take the yes, so much more fun with Tiger involved.
Winning nationality USA: -138 Europe: +200 Rest of world: +450 Well since Jordan Spieth is winning give me USA-138 and some more  #FreeMoney
First-time winner: Yes: -220 No: +165 Ask yourself, has Jordan Spieth won the masters? No, ok well then take the yes-220 and win some more #FreeMoney
Will there be a hole in one? Yes: -130 No: Even  I'm not really feeling a hole in one, the odds are pretty low I'd take the No and make a few bucks. You won't win a lot but #FreeMoney is #FreeMoney

There you have it, when you're swimming in #FreeMoney on Monday afternoon be sure to thank, we should be charging for this s…

"Negus" Spelling Bee Kendrick Lamar Mashup

Best video I have seen all week. At the end of the album cut of Kendrick Lamar's "i" Kendrick starts explaining the meaning of negus. It just so happened that this kid had to spell it on the nationally televised Scripps Spelling Bee. The mashup is amazing and whoever remembered a kid from 2007 spelling negus. Thank you.
Link to the video is directly below the picture

Meet Harold Ekeh, The Student We Want To Be

Usually, we don't hear stories about teens like Harold and their college experiences. That's because usually, we wouldn't care. Mr. Ekeh is an exception to that rule, and let me tell you why.
First, I want to extend some congratulations to this kid. He applied to 13 colleges, 8 of those being Ivy League schools. Harold got accepted into all of them. Every single Ivy League school accepted this young man. Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Brown, Dartmouth, Columbia, UPenn, and Cornell all wanted this kid. Not only is this feat amazing, but credit to Harold and his work ethic for completing this task. Adding on to that, he came from Nigeria to the U.S. 10 years ago. Harold scored a 2270 out of 2400 on the SATs and would like to find a cure for Alzheimer's disease.
So Harold, you've done what all of us which we could do. Hard work does pay off, congratulations on your feat.

Duke Beats Wisconsin, Wins NCAAB Title 68-63

In just the nail-biter everyone wants to see in the NCAAB finals, Duke beat out Wisconsin 68-63. The Blue Devils were lead by 4 freshmen, proving that it takes more than experience to take home a title. Wisconsin, lead by senior Frank Kaminsky, put up a hard fight but fell apart in the second half. The Badgers capitalized in the first half, as the Blue Devils tallied up the fouls, but in the 2nd half the Badgers committed 13 fouls. Tyrus Jones and Grayson Allen lead the Blue Devils in the second half and ended up with 23 and 16 points respectively. With this victory, Coach K has 5 championships under his belt, moving him ahead of Adolph Rupp for 2nd most by a Division 1 men's coach. This is also Dukes 5th title, tying them with Indiana and North Carolina for the third most titles. With the Duke team developing, it is very possible for them to take home another title in the near future.

BU Poised To Win 6th National Title

What's that sound, you ask? Oh that's just the sound of North Dakota leaving Boston and getting home early. Seriously they shouldn't even bother showing up after seeing that video. Jack Eichel might put up an Ovechtrick (9 ginos).

I'll be at the Garden on Thursday for the first round of the Frozen Four as the ipso facto championship game at 8:30 takes place between BU and North Dakota. Seriously how horny are hockey fans for this game? I'd say hornier than a 13 year old boy at a Hooters. This game has potential to be the greatest college hockey game of all time. It actually sucks that this is the semifinal and that Providence and Nebraska Omaha are the other two teams. Providence vs UNO is probably the most boring matchup possible for a Frozen Four. Oh well, all that means is that BU will beat North Dakota in a nail biting, heart attack inducing game and then rout whatever sorry team wins the other game.

It's hat and t shirt season in the world of college hoc…

Sox crush Hamels, Win Opener 8-0

In their first game of the season, the Red Sox showed their muscle in an 8-0 win over the Phillies. Clay Buchholz came out on the mound as an ace and did not allow a hit until the 4th inning. Buchholz would end up throwing 7 scoreless innings, allowing only 3 hits and striking out 9. Another focal part of the Sox win was the big bats that came alive and well in the opener. Dustin Pedroia cracked 2 dingers and knocked in 2 runs en route to a 3 for 5 day. The nail in the coffin occurred in the top half of the 9th when Phillies pitcher Diekman allowed the bases to become loaded. Newly acquired Hanley Ramirez hit a grand slam off of Diekman, and the score was then 8-0 in favor of the sox. Layne would come in for the Sox to pitch the 9th and close out the game. An overall great game for the Sox, and the fans certainly hope to see more of the same in the upcoming games.

Flood in the Atacama Desert

So on March 30th there were huge floods in Northern Chile due to excessive amounts of rain. I heard about it a few days ago but I didn't pay much attention to it. I just saw that 25 people were dead and more than 100 are still missing, probably dead. It's obviously very sad stuff that you never want to hear about and you never want to experience.

With that said, this video is bananas. Everything in this dude's town is getting washed away in front of him and he doesn't sound too phased by it. You name it and it went by this guy. I feel like I'd be a little more worried that my house was gonna get swept away by this huge flood five feet in front of me. But that's my inner American talking. These Chilean guys are built tough, they don't blink. Monstrous flood in front of me? No problem, feed me more. Give me a challenge next time, eh?

Best Albums of 2015 So Far (Jan 1st-March 31st)

2015 has started off with a great first 3 months for music! MUCH better than all of 2014 besides 2014 Forest Hills Drive and My Krazy Life respectively. There are already five projects in 2015 that would have made my 2014 top five list with flying colors. I know some people would even argue that Lupe Fiasco's new album should make this upcoming list. *Spoiler alert* It didn't. Yes I listened to it and no I did not like it. Let's get started with the second tier or B list if you will. These projects will be ranked in order from 5th best to the best album of the first 3 months of the year..... If worthy*
*I haven't listened to Ludaversal yet so that will be in the halfway point post* 5. Wale - The Album About Nothing  I was actually very pleasantly surprised by this album. Huge improvement from his The Gifted album. Like HUGE improvement... Because that album was horrendous. At first listen I was skeptical and wasn't a huge fan of it. After a few more listens I could no…
